please don't steal from us

It pains us to have to do this, because in an ideal world, everybody would be ethical, and there wouldn't be a bunch of lamers out there looking for an easy mark. It wouldn't cross anyone's mind to just steal our stuff and use it as their own. But we live in a world full of grifters, punks, and thieves. So, herewith we do claim that the content, design, and form of the pages on this site and all Shiny Monkey products are copyrighted works of Shiny Monkey. We did the work, so it's only fair that we get the credit.

Really, what you don't want to do is copy this stuff. We know it's good. We know it probably totally rocked your world, and you want to keep it with you forever. You love it so much, you want to borrow it and hang it up in your cubicle to show everyone how cool you are. Your printer is already knocking out a copy of our award-winning monkey logo for you to rush down to Tattoo World. Well, just don't, okay? If you want to copy, quote, borrow, spindle, mutilate, archive, or otherwise use anything you find here, ask us first. That's all we're saying, just ask first. We'll run it by a specially-trained chimp and see if it's okay.

(Yes, we know chimps are apes, not monkeys. We used to have a colobus monkey doing all our copyright review work, but he met some capuchin chick on the Internet and moved to Ohio, and the chimpanzee we hired to replace him was more qualified anyway, having graduated third in his class from Yale Law. So yeah, we hear about how chimps aren't monkeys EVERY DAY from him. You know what, Bobo? If you don't like being called a monkey, why did you come work for us?)
